How To Make Soft Hair

Everyone wants to have soft, touchable hair, but that's often easier said than done. If you're struggling with coarse hair due to heat or environmental damage, use these daily tips to overcome dull, brittle locks and achieve touchable tresses.

Causes Of   Rough Hair:

Before we go on to discuss the remedies, it is important to know the potential causes behind having rough hair.

1. Poor nutrition.
2. Loss of moisture on accout of environmental factors.
3. Thermal damages to hair due to excessive use of styling products and heating appliances.
4. Lack of proper hair-care routine.
5. Hair damages due to chlorine, sun and chemical treatments.

Naturally, rough hair tends to be dry and lifeless. However, prevention is always better that cure and hence, try to make amends in your day-to-day life if you think the root-cause of having rough hair lies in any of the above-mentioned points.

Home Remedies of Rough Hair Soft:

Banana and yoghurt pack: Mash a banana and mix it with half-a-cup of beaten yoghurt. Apply on your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes.  Wash off with a good quality shampoo. This too can be done once every week.

Egg and milk pack: Mix egg white with milk and massage your scalp with it. Apply it on the hair strands as well. Leave it on for twenty minutes and wash off.

Mustard oil and honey: Take some mustard oil and warm it. Massage your scalp with it. Then apply honey through your hair strands and after that,

cover your head with a moist and warm towel for about fifteen minutes. This can be done once every month.

Oil massage and Egg and curd mask: This is an age-old remedy for rough hair. Mix egg yolk with two spoons of curd and apply evenly through the hair strands. This is going to be more effective if you precede this treatment with an oil massage by mixing castor oil and almond oil together. Oil massage would help to soften your hair and the egg-curd mask would provide proteins and condition your hair to make it smooth and shiny. Leave on for about one hour and wash off with a hair-softening shampoo. Do it once every week.

Virgin olive oil massage: An oil massage can do wonders if you have dry and rough hair. Take some virgin olive oil and apply it on your hair and scalp with the help of cotton. Give yourself a massage and wrap your head with a damp and warm towel. This will ensure that the oil penetrates the hair roots. Try doing it at least two hours before you shampoo your hair.

Eggs massage: Eggs are found as a staple food in many kitchens.  They provide you with a great source of protein when taken internally.  Egg yolks are high in protein which makes it a great hair masks.

Protein helps prevent hair loss and helps to strengthen your hair. Also, treating your hair with egg yolks leads to softer, more manageable, and shinier hair.  If you have a problem with hair breakage, then you should use an egg yolk treatment, as the protein in the egg yolks helps prevent hair from breaking.  The sulfur in the the egg yolks also help treat dandruff.

Everyday Tips:

1. It is important to keep your hair and scalp clean; but it is equally important not to wash your hair too frequently as this would rob your hair of the essential oils and make it dry.  Shampoo two to three times every week and use a shampoo formulated to smoothen rough hair. Use a moisturizing conditioner and concentrate on applying it along the length of your hair and not the roots.

2. Pay attention to what you eat. Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.  Drink lots of water.

3. Avoid exposure of your hair in sun and pollution. Consider using a sunscreen or you may like to wear a scarf stylishly or tie up your hair in a bun! This will help you to avoid making your hair rough and dull.

4. Avoid chlorinated water, styling products and heat on your hair (for styling, of course!) as much as you can.

5. You may consider going for a hair spa or a deep-conditioning treatment at your favourite salon.

Home Remedies For Pimples

What are Pimples?

Bacterial infection in the overactive oil glands situated at the base of the skin generally leads to the formation of Pimples. They are usually pus-filled raised bumps on the skin. Pimples are ugly to look at and hence considered a source of social embarrassment. The face, neck, chest, back and even shoulders are some of the most common sites of this infection.

Frequent breakouts of Pimples are referred to as Acne. Infected blackheads and whiteheads usually lead to the formation of Pimples. Contrary to the popular belief, Pimples are not caused due to dirt, sweat, or consumption of oily foods, chocolates, etc.

Causes and Symptoms of Pimples

As already mentioned, overactive oil glands play an important role in causing pimples. The oil glands tend to become overactive due to overstimulation caused by hormonal changes. The hormonal changes could be triggered by puberty.

Hormonal changes caused by menstrual cycles also contribute in the development of Pimple in women. Though, the problem tends to subside once the hormones settle down. Hereditary factors may also be held responsible for causing Pimples and Acne in some cases.

Medicines containing lithium, iodides, bromides, steroids etc have been associated with the worsening of Pimples. Repeatedly washing Pimple affected area may also aggravate the problem as skin tends to produce more oil in response to repeated washing and harsh scrubbing. Stress has also been associated, though indirectly, with frequent breakouts of Pimples.

Pimples are generally characterized by red or yellow colored inflammations on the skin. They are often filled with pus. When a Pimple is squeezed, the pus spreads on the surrounding area resulting in further infection. Moreover, the act of squeezing increases the probability of leaving behind scars even after the healing. These pus-filled Pimples are less commonly known as Pustules.
